Emergency Medicine Department

Educational Programs

Our faculty is committed to education. We have 27 full-time physicians board certified in emergency medicine on staff, along with 10 physician assistants, 36 residents amd 1 fellow in pediatric emergency medicine.

Clinical Activities

The Emergency Department is composed of the Main ED, The General Treatment Area (a fast track area) and the Pediatric ED, seeing a combined total of more than 107,000 patients per year. Research Activities

The research of the department is clinical and focuses on:
health services administration cardiovascular diseases pain management	patient safety outcomes

The department, as well as the institution, has grant monies available on a competitive basis for educational and research projects.
