Cardiac Surgery

Students will be introduced to adult cardiac disease requiring
surgical intervention and invasive cardiac diagnostic studies.
Students will be involved in the decision making process for
or against operation in each individual patient, and will divide
their time between the cardiac catheterization laboratory, surgical
and cardiology wards, and the operating theater. Students
will be expected to follow patients from admission through catheterization
and operation as well as participating in their postoperative
care.
No nights or weekends during this rotation.
