Clinical & Reproductive Genetics

The student will learn the genetic aspects of obstetrics, gynecology,
cancer genetics and pediatrics by participating in genetic counseling
sessions, perform pedigree analysis, participate in prenatal
diagnostic testing (ultrasound, amniocentesis, CVs) and evaluate
dysmorphic fetuses, newborns, infants, and children. In
addition the student will learn various laboratory procedures
including karyotype analysis, MSAFP and triple screening and
molecular genetics (PCR, RFLP, SSCP analysis, etc).
No nights or weekends during this rotation.
