Pediatric Infectious Disease

Fourth year pediatric clerkships may be taken in the area of
Pediatric Infectious Diseases. This elective will include
an opportunity to be involved with all of the pediatric patients
admitted to a 50-bed pediatric inpatient service, a 6-bed PICU
or a 55-bed neonatal intensive care unit, in which infectious
disease problems may arise. Outpatient experience in Pediatrics
HIV and TB Clinics are also offered. A literature review
of a specific infectious disease problem will be presented by
the student at the end of the rotation.
No nights or weekends during this rotation.
