Primary Care Medicine-Pediatrics

This rotation will provide the student with exposure to an integrated Med/Peds ambulatory practice and 32 combined Med/Peds residents. The emphasis will be on primary care of adults and children in the ambulatory arena. Students will work with seven Med/Peds faculty and several categorical faculty. Experiences will include continuity clinics, urgent care, subspecialty clinics including OB/GYN, HIV, TB, Psychiatry, Renal, and Geriatrics. As well, students will have the opportunity to attend teaching sessions with on site nutritionists and social workers. Students will attend daily conferences and weekly grand rounds. Students will also have the opportunity to spend time on the Medicine and/or Pediatric wards.
One or two work nights may be required. As well, a vehicle is required for this rotation.
