4th Year Electives

Women's Health for the Internist

Director:   Lauren Meade, M. D.

Duration:   4 weeks
Students per month:   1

The Women’s Health elective for internal medicine is an elective designed to expose the medical student to the subspecialty area of women’s health.  It is a mostly outpatient elective which focuses on the areas of breast health, osteoporosis, non-surgical gynecology, incontinence and comprehensive women’s health care.  The elective exposes the medical student to several different clinics which focus on the above clinical areas.  There is also a journal club and a noon conference once during the month that focuses on the current women’s health controversy.  We welcome students who are especially interested in women’s health and internal medicine.  This is an introduction to the Women’s Health Track at the Baystate Medical Center ’s residency program.

A car is necessary for this rotation.

If you are interested in our 4th year elective, please submit an application.
