Ethics Forum: Medical Ethical Abuses Past, Present & Future
Time: 7:30 am
Location: Porter, EOMR
Speaker: Richard Engelman MD
A talk entitled: "Medical Ethical Abuses: Past, Present, and Future" will be presented by Dr. Engelman at the monthly meeting of the ethics forum on February 20th at 7:30 am in the EOMR of the Porter Bldg.
There are two films being shown, one of which is from the Nuremberg Doctors Trial with film from the Spielberg Library. The second is a film taken by the Stanford University Department of Psychology to show how it is possible with the best of intentions to still have an experiment create abuse, to think of yourself as a thoughtful scientist, and not to be aware of the implications of your abuse. These films are provocative and may be upsetting to people. Anyone may attend. Coffee will be served.
