Mark Tidswell, MD Receives 2007 Educational Scholarship Award

Dr. Mark Tidswell received this award from the Society of Critical Care Medicine for his abstract, Results of a Phase 2 Trial of Eritoran, a Synthetic TLR-4 Antagonist, in Patients with Severe Sepsis.


He will be honored at a presentation (which includes a $500 award) at a ceremony in conjunction with the 36th Critical Care Congress in February 2007.


SCCM Educational Scholarship Awards recognize excellence in critical care research.

Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine Fellowship Re-Accredited for 4 years

The Residency Review Committee for Pathology reaccredited Baystate Medical Center's fellowship in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine for 4 years at its September 29 2006 meeting. The re-accreditation was the follow-up to the March 2006 site visit for the program. Chester Andrzejewski Jr., MD, PhD serves as the Program Director for this fellowship program under the core Pathology residency program.

Pediatrics Residency Re-Accredited for 4 Years

The Baystate Medical Center residency in Pediatrics was re-accredited for 4 years at the October 15 2006 meeting of the Residency Review Committee for Pediatrics. The re-accreditation was the follow-up to the program's March 2006 site visit. Program Director for this residency program is Barbara Stechenberg, MD.

Exploring Effective Assessment and Evaluation Methods

This forum addresses what to assess, best methods and practices, and technologic tools available at Tufts.


Hands-on workshops will explore how to:

  • Observe, evaluate, and give formative feedback in a clinical setting

  • Use the WebDiver tool to evaluate student presentations

  • Develop online quizzes on TUSK.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Karen Richardson-Nassif, PhD, Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Development and Diversity

  • Cynthia Forehand, PhD, Professor of Anatomy and Neurobiology, University of Vermont College of Medicine
