EVENTS Steven Ringer, Chief of Neonatal Medicine at Brigham and Women's, will be speaking about his work with Project Vietnam (www.projectvietnam.net ), a group started by AAP Calif Chapter 4, but uses volunteers from all over. The group started as a neonatal resuscitation project but now includes maternal care and some surgical projects as well. The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm in the Chicopee-Agawam room with a light dinner. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 Richard Engelman MD will be presenting a talk entitled: "Medical Ethical Abuses: Past, Present, and Future" at the monthly meeting of the ethics forum on February 20th at 7:30 am in the EOMR of the Porter Bldg. There are two films being shown, one of which is from the Nuremberg Doctors Trial with film from the Spielberg Library. The second is a film taken by the Stanford University Department of Psychology to show how it is possible with the best of intentions to still have an experiment create abuse, to think of yourself as a thoughtful scientist, and not to be aware of the implications of your abuse. These films are provocative and may be upsetting to people. Anyone may attend. Coffee will be served. It will likely be several years before we are able to do this again so please take advantage of this opportunity.
