FEATURE Prestigious Accreditation is a “Door Opener” to Multi-institutional Collaboration for Continuing Education and Grants Dr. Neal Seymour received the certificate of national accreditation as an Education Institute for the Baystate Simulation Center and Goldberg Surgical Skills Laboratory from the American College of Surgeons on June 14th. As one of only 15 Level I Education Institutes in the country, Baystate joins the short list of distinguished innovators in education.
Baystate Spearheads Tufts University School of Medicine’s Use of this Innovation in Medical Education The experience and expertise of the Baystate Simulation Center will help to support TUSM’s efforts at curriculum development, simulation center implementation and future Education Institute accreditation. Baystate is Committed to Further Integrating Simulation Training into its 9 Residency Programs The Baystate Simulation Center will soon be undergoing major renovation to meet the current and future demands for simulation training. The configuration of the Goldberg Surgical Skills Lab will be changed slightly and the Chestnut 6 conference room will be lost to make possible the creation of 3 simulation training rooms, with a central control room for support. When completed this fall, one room will simulate an operating room with the High Fidelity Simulator. Two other rooms will simulate patient room and emergency room settings. |
