ANNOUNCEMENTS Michael Germain MD, in the Department of Medicine's Division of Nephrology, Promoted to Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine Hetal Patel MD, Fifth-Year Radiology Resident, Awarded Radiologic Society of North America's Trainee Research Prize Dr. Patel was chosen by the Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA) Scientific Program Committee to receive the prize for his research project, Comparison of Full Chest CTA with Limited CTA and Triple Rule-out CTA for PE Detections and Effective Dose Implications.
He will present his project at RSNA's Annual Meeting in November in Chicago, and will receive his prize and a $1000 cash award.
As a prizewinner, the Society is encouraging Dr. Patel to submit a manuscript for consideration of publication to Radiology, Radiographics or Medical Physics. Jessica B. Young JD, CIP, Chair of Baystate's Institutional Review Board, Certified as IRB Professional Credentialing Promotes Ethical Research Practices and Programs The Council for Certification of IRB Professionals (CCIP), an affiliate of Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R), has certified Jessica Young as an IRB Professional. The credential was developed to ensure that those charged with the administration of research practices and programs have demonstrated an advanced level of knowledge, understanding, and relevant competencies. Jessica has been the Chair of Baystate's IRB since 2004. Prior to being appointed as Chair, Jessica served on the IRB for 5 years as a non-scientist Community Representative. Tufts Innovations in Education Intramural Grant Program Call for Proposals Due December 15, 2007 In recognition of the importance of teaching at Tufts, Dean Michael Rosenblatt, MD invites proposals for the Innovations in Education Intramural Grant Program. This program, now in its fourth year, is designed to promote and support teaching innovations developed by our faculty that will enhance the core educational programs and overall mission of Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM), including the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences.
