2007 Weinberg Prize winner

Dr. Jay Steingrub, Division of Critical Care Medicine (CCD), received the Weinberg Family Prize, Baystate Health's highest academic honor, for distinguishing himself as an outstanding clinician, impassioned educator, and a highly successful clinical investigator who has brought significant national recognition to Baystate Health for the Division’s program in critical care research.

Midwifery Education Program Transitions to 5-Semester Curriculum

Baystate's 5th Annual Surgery Symposium Focuses on Simulated Surgical Learning Environments

3 Patient Simulation Practicums Were Featured


On November 14th, the Department of Surgery and the Baystate Simulation Center and Goldberg Surgical Skills Lab hosted a day-long surgery symposium. Six guest presenters from as far as Florida, Minneapolis and Washington state spoke about aspects of incorporating simulation-based training into current educational curricula, including Dr. Tomothy Broderick from NASA's Extreme Environment Mission Operations, who talked about preparing for surgery in space.
