All 10 of Baystate Medical Center's residency programs participate in the National Resident Matching Program. They performed well with with an overall match rate of 93% for categorical positions (55 of 59), and 91% for all positions (58 of 64 positions). In addition, there were 13 positions filled outside the Match.
The Psychiatry residency program, which will begin in July 2009, entered the match for the first time with 4 categorical positions and filled all positions.
New Residents & Fellows Begin Orientation June 29 and Start Their Programs July 1
Baystate is welcoming 96 new trainees into all 10 residency programs and 11 of its 16 fellowships. This next year's group of residents comes from 28 medical schools in 18 states (14 outside of New England). Of note, 3 students from Tufts University School of Medicine matched at Baystate. In addition, 14 international medical schools are represented.
General orientation for these new residents and fellows begins Monday June 29, with orientation in each Program on June 30. They start their new programs on July 1.
