GME Holiday Party


Drs. Kelly and Granowitz Enjoy the Children's Entertainment at the 2009 Holiday Party


More than 200 residents, fellows, faculty and their families attended this year's Holiday party. Children and parents alike enjoyed balloon art and a magic show by Ed Popielarczyk and food from different cultures such as, Asian, Indian, Greek, Polish, German, Italian and Latin American. Toys, hats & gloves, gift cards, and monetary donations were donated to the “In the Spirit of Giving” toy drive that will benefit the local community as well as Baystate’s Children’s Hospital.

Grace Makari-Judson MD, Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program Director, Selected to Participate in AAMC Mid-Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminar


Dr. Makari-Judson attended the Association of American Medical College (AAMC) Mid-Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminar December 5-8, 2009, in Scottsdale, Arizona. The program designed for women associate or full professors with clear potential for departmental and institutional leadership roles.


Participants enhance their knowledge of institutional financing, departmental budgeting processes, principles of negotiation, conflict resolution, and personnel management while expanding their network of mentors and colleagues in academic medicine.
