SimNewB Has Arrived! Born: April 6, 2010 | Weight: 7 lbs | Height: 21 in The Laerdal SimNewB, as yet unnamed, was placed in his crib in Baystate's Simulation Center on April 13 and on that day Pediatrics residents, educators and nurses had the opportunity to successfully participate in a simulated newborn patient care experience.
The SimNewB has many advanced patient simulation capabilities that lend themselves to the realism and stress of infant care. Curriculum development and implementation plans for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team training are underway for this very exciting addition to the Simulation Center “family”. Mason Square Neighborhood Health Center Now Linked for Conferences Both resident and attending physicians at Mason Square Neighborhood Health Center can now participate remotely in departmental grand rounds as well as multiple other educational conferences via videoconferencing. In the past, the 15-20 minute travel time between the health center and the main campus precluded attendance at numerous educational venues. Now, physicians can meet the clinical needs of their patients while still being able to participate in a broader array of educational opportunities. |
