TUSM Medical Students Choose Baystate for Their Third Year for 2010-2011

"Most of the upperclassmen who went to Baystate told me it was one of the best choices they made in medical school."

—Derrick Hwu, M'12

Thirty-two medical students from Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) have chosen Baystate Medical Center as their site of choice to complete their entire third year clinical curriculum.  This is the second year in a row that 32 TUSM students have spent their third year at Baystate.

Beginning June 29, each student will spend the 2010-2011 academic year rotating through clerkships in medicine, obstetrics-gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, and surgery.

Of the TUSM-affiliated hospitals, Baystate is consistently rated as one of the top choices for clinical training.  Students cite quality of education and faculty, access to a wide variety of clinical encounters, and friendliness of faculty and staff as their top reasons for choosing Baystate.
