Ob-Gyn Residency Program Overview

The Ob/Gyn department at Baystate Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine's western campus, is dedicated to providing a residency program in an academic setting that is friendly, supportive and fun. Our formal education ranges from traditional didactic to hands-on curriculum to informal journal clubs in faculty homes. Whether your plans include fellowship training, research or general practice, our goal is to help all of our residents to attain their personal goals.

Well-rounded Training

Residents have opportunities to:

learn advanced laparoscopic skills in our simulation lab
participate as teachers in medical student education and development
be primary surgeons alongside Board Certified subspecialists in:

Reproductive Endocrinology
Gynecologic Oncology
Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery
Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
Genetics

As one of the largest Obstetric units in the northeast, our state of the art Obstetrics unit includes:

fully-integrated computerized charting system
computerized fetal monitoring system
advanced ultrasound suite
one-on-one training opportunities with nurse-midwives and nurse practitioners

Baystate Medical Center is dedicated to training physicians to work in teams and across disciplines:

quarterly inter-professional rounds
team training through TeamSTEPPS
inter-disciplinary simulation learning
broad outpatient experience

Baystate's Obstetrics-Gynecology Residency is ACGME-accredited.
